Late last night, the wind came up and continued all night causing the caravan to rock and roll whilst being pelted by rain. We had deliberately left the stabilisers up, as we always do when we are free camping, in the remote possibility of having to move on in a hurry. When we opened the blinds this morning we found large branches fallen all around the reserve, some blocking our route out, but fortunately none on our rig.
Saturday had arrived and with it, business as usual. The Information Centre in Traralgon was open and soon the list of questions I had compiled were all answered, and some. The lovely co-operative assistant even rang through to a couple of caravan parks to check out availability and price. Armed with all this information, we drove back westwards just eleven kilometres or so toward Morwell and set up here at this park. By now the wind had abated and the rain was only intermittent, however it was a soup kind of day followed by shopping in the local shopping centre. We sought clothes for Chris and came away with clothes for Bronwyn. As I indicated, it was definitely a shopping sort of day. We also stocked up with groceries at Coles, as we seem so often to do, and then returned to try yet again to make Skype contact with family, without success. However this did provide an excellent opportunity to put together a fish and potato pie which also seemed fitting for the gloom outside.
